National Rail App Bewertungen

Super Hilfe

Great Job...really useful...:)))

...loving it...:)))

Recent update ruined it!

This app used to be decent. Easy to use. Would store frequently checked stations so you could see live trains at the touch of a button. Now it’s more fiddly: have to choose stations from a drop down menu & there’s no longer an ‘earlier trains’ button which is key if you use it as I do to track when a train left the station… Very disappointing!

Who approved this?

Looks and feels like a 2000’s website wrapped into an app. Try better next time.

Spam

Using this app had a spam banner for funmuv.com. That website then started helping itself to money in my bank account so I had to call the fraud department of my bank and get my card cancelled.

Impossible

It is impossible to delete or remove a ticket added to the basket. Worst experience.

Not useable

I tried to enter a date a week out and choose the time and it seems to change the time… I’m in the USA currently but when I pick a date and time and depart station I’d expect the app to choose that date and time. The website they have works as expected…. Maybe if I’m in that time zone it will work ok? I can use the web site on my phone… weird

Please Invest in a New App

National Rail would do well to hire a real developer to create an app that is user friendly. The current app is impossible to navigate (for context, I’m in my late 20’s and cannot figure out how to actually purchase tickets on this app). No one likes Trainline’s fee but the app is just so easy to use - it wins.

Spectacularly bad user interface

You have to wonder whether the people who write this app ever had to use it. There are so many apps for reserving travel and they all work in much the same way and so are familiar. But this? No. They had to do it differently and in a much more complex manner. It’s virtually impossible to find a train and actually book something.

Remove (or fix) Purchase Option

After entering all (including card) details, an error “something went very, very wrong” comes up. Try PayPal: the log in screen loads BEHIND your little message so it is also totally useless. On a positive note, the price is slightly better than direct via the train company’s website, so another painful experience (that shouldn’t be needed by this stage) finally allowed me to purchase the tickets I needed. TOTALLY BAD EXPERIENCE

Inaccessible app for sighted and impaired users

It’s 2020 and your app doesn’t follow the iOS accessibility guidelines. Further, your layout is cropped on iPhones made after November 2017 (iPhone X). This app needs to be updated or removed from the App Store.

Useless app, does not work

I tried to plan a journey. Put in time of 7:55 am and only gave me trains in the afternoon. Can’t go to any earlier trains.

Font issue

Font now appears (or rather doesn’t!) in white which makes its almost impossible to use. *Update- If you come across this, switch your phone from Dark mode to Light mode. The app does not switch automatically.

Seriously still no support for latest iPhone models?

Are you serious? Still no support for latest iPhone models??? I’m talking about iPhone X and later. It’s a joke?

Very helpfu

Pretty easy to use after a bit of exploring. Very helpful for planning a journey. I like how it remembers my inquiries and how you can easily see lower rates and shorter journeys on the same route.

Ticketing doesn’t work

The app is clumsily designed but serviceable for schedule lookup. But forget about buying tickets; that feature doesn’t work once you try to get to the payments screen.

Absolutely useless

Garishly ugly and impossible to use. I tried multiple times to use this app to purchase a ticket with no luck. There's a problem with input and display; I was never shown the train times I'd input and the feature to scroll to earlier times does not work. Needs serious fixing.

Worst App Ever

I do t know where to begin. I would say that monkeys wrote this app, but that would be an insult to monkeys. When you click on 'tickets' to purchase your tickets, the app rarely finds a route even though the app itself has selected a route to and from your destination. After the app says it cannot find a route, it wants you to re-enter your travel info on a completely different screen. Once you do so, the app hangs and you have to exit the app and start this loop all over again. If, by some miracle, you advance after you click the tickets button to put in your seat preferences, etc., once you enter your email address and click "continue as guest", the app hangs. Why yes, I have tried registering. The app does not think my phone number is legitimate, which means you cannot register. I am trying to buy round trip tickets to Exeter. The app has been hung for the last 34 minutes. In 10 days (I installed the app 10 days ago), I have only been able to purchase tickets once. Horrible piece of work.

Don't agree to the tos

Read the terms of service

Wasted too much time.

App is unreliable. Full of bugs. Tried to book. The app took all info, even credit card. Sent me a confirmation email that did not have booking #, but listed trains and amoun paid. But did not in fact take booking. No record w cc company. No booking. No ticket. Used diff company on line. Not app. Have now downloaded different app. It worked. Bye for now National Rail. Too bad.

App stuck and can't purchase tickets

I was able to make a purchase of one ticket which several times to do before it finally submitted. When I tried to do another purchase, I clicked tickets, picked my time and then hit buy now and kept being taken back to the results from my previous purchase. Tried refreshing, reload downloading the app and neither of that worked. Giving up on the app

Will not load

Running iOS 6.1, downloaded, deleted & downloaded again 4 times. The app will not open on my iPod.

Do NOT download

Does not work for purchasing tickets. My husband & I both got errors messages that we were offline & could not purchase. We were both online. He ended up using his laptop to purchase, but still had to use self service machine at station to print. Worthless.

This app is great!

I don't live in the uk, but I had to travel to a friends house by train. This app was very easy and simple to use and I made it there no problem. However, when selecting the time for journeys, it gets confused between 24 hr time and 12 hr time.

great improvement on last versions but...

Great improvement on last version -we're able to see ticket prices BUT the app takes you too train companies websites (within the app) where there's no iPhone formatting. also needs a iOS 7 inspired coat of paint over UI

No longer works

The app used to work perfectly. Now it has a connection problem.

Simple, easy to use

This is a great app, simple and easy for everyday journeys. I like that you can see a list of stops on your route and the platforms where you board and disembark. It's easy to find the last train too.

Trains missing!

I tried planning a few journeys and a bunch of trains don't show up. The work ok at nationalrail.co.uk, so ill use that instead. (Note I have "show direct etc" off). If you want reliable info, be wary of this!

Fabulous & helpful

Great app to get up I date train times

Fooding day

Buenisima nos salvo el dia de las inundaciones en Escocia ! Graciassss

Ripped Off

I paid for the ad-free version. Later when I reset the app (the only way to remove old trips) it also removed the ad free status. Ads are back and I can't remove them without paying again. I contacted support several times and it's clear they have no interest in resolving my problem. I have been scammed out of £7, don't let it happen to you!

Massive rip-off - Get UK TRAIN TIMES instead

We already paid $6.99 for the previous app. You made agant change their logo, and released this poor rip off and want us to pay AGAIN for the pleasure of not seeing adds??? No way!!! Get UK Train Times instead... it's MUCH BETTER!

Why duplicate?

This app looks very nice, slick modern interface. But apart from the new wake up feature and moving everything around, how is this different than the existing Train Times app the National Rail already put out? They seem to have the same functionality.

Impressed

Slick design, fully featured - esp like the "wake me up"
